I don’t know if I’d personally say it’s horrible, but it’s definitely more of a righteous hero archetype as opposed to how he was originally portrayed. It’s different for sure.

Having read all of dragon ball multiple times, the issues people have with super Goku tend to be more so with his intellect than anything. Goku was always slightly naive and childish, but Super makes him an outright dunce in many cases.
