Damn you old biff Tannen stealing the almanac and using the time machine to make an alternate reality.

Cycling is slower only for highways. Every other type of road, cycling is as fast or faster than driving

If to this you add the option of using the metro. Cycling is always faster.

I have done the experiment door-to-door and every single time i get there before my wife.

And what is the benefit of such data centers for the population?
February 5, 2026 at 8:55 PM
So, they want cyclists to wear helmets and high-vis to stay safe. , instead of focusing on the people committing harm they focus on blaming the victims . Guess we should stop funding safety features in parks and blame those pesky kids for being kidnapped…

As I tell every single driver complaining about bicycles. Just imagine each one of them driving a F150 in front of you and tell me how much worse traffic would be.

Even more, investment in cycling infrastructure in Greater Montreal, resulted in qc being the #1 destinations for cycle tourism in America. Bringing in more than $700M of direct spending (100M of tax revenue) and 6,000 jobs . This tax revenue more than offsets any costs related to infrastructure.
February 5, 2026 at 8:41 PM
Want to talk about spending. Montreal spends 0.5% of transportation budget on bike infrastructure (management, maintenance and construction) . While 7% uses active transportation in summer and 3% in winter. The budget is unfair, you are correct, but unfair with cyclists.

I definitely agree with him. This issue should have been resolved already, everyone in those lists investigated and charged accordingly. Reparations given to the victims and legal framework so this doesn’t happen again . And when that happens, we can move on.
February 5, 2026 at 8:30 PM
Montreal has been doubling bike usage in winter since the bike paths started to be cleared from snow.

Winters dont get much harder than Montreal.

Similar with a car, you need a second set of winter wheels. Bring winter clothing and if paths are clear it is safer than driving.

One of the phrases only said by people that don’t even bike in clear summer days.
February 5, 2026 at 4:54 AM
That is my main reason to cycle-commute. Instead of 45 mins being part of traffic. I have 1 hour being apart from everything but myself…

Unfortunately I have to go through suburbs to get to my work and they don’t plow the bike paths. For now I am part of traffic until black ice is no more

With near 0 benefit to the population. AI is an amazing development, unfortunately it is being used to make the world so much worse for almost everyone and everything.

Imagine society not having the need to work to produce what we need. Instead is used to exploit us and deplete common resources

That could be literally any day other than pay-check day.

They cant de-certify based on country of manufacture. They would have to change technical requirements which affects every business jets, not only Canadian

impact American made (and every other business jet manufacturer) . Making it even more expensive to make jets in the US.

Source: I worked 5 years in aircraft certification.
January 30, 2026 at 2:52 AM
Well. Joke’s on him, Bombardier only makes business jets now. And most American buyers register them in tax havens, which completely circumvents his de-certification for sale.

The only way to make canadian business jets not to operate there is to change the FAA technical requirements which will

I would take PP with a functioning government in the US anyday.

Since there is no functioning government south of the border, at least we got Carney.

I wish there was still an NDP with enough weight to move the needle to the left a bit.
January 30, 2026 at 2:05 AM
TBH, without Trump, the Conservatives had a better chance of defeating the liberals. Still , the world would definitely be a better place
January 30, 2026 at 2:01 AM
We need those names! They should be recognized for putting citizens above party.
January 30, 2026 at 12:47 AM
There can’t be a liberal, let alone a progressive, equivalent of Alex Jones. Unfortunately right wing politics can rely on hatred and misinformation a lot more than left wing ones.

Their base is less educated, heterogeneous, has less ability to think critically or empathetically.
January 28, 2026 at 8:15 PM
Sure. But again, she would have to save face so her support would be less than with Trump that wants to make Gaza a “resort” for the rich.

And she was a lot more progressive than Biden, some people didn’t vote for her because she was too progressive, others because she was too establishment.

It makes sense since the vast majority of people do not commit any crimes.
