I think there's not much of a difference when it comes to the average -person- but it DOES matter when it comes to politicians. For example Schumer and Jeffries are moderate liberals and they are absolutely not meeting the moment, they've been completely useless as opposition to Trump's fascism.

The problem is Trump doesn't want to replace Powell with someone more accountable to the public (over Wall Street), he wants someone who will answer to him personally, keep interest rates permanently low, and make Turkey's inflation look like a picnic. Republicans once again being the greater evil.

It's more nuanced than that. If he was genuinely rattled about the files and it affected his decision making then his people would notice. And yeah there'll be a ton of books, they're all grifters, you really think they'll be loyal after he's gone? Same thing happened after his 1st term.

I mean... it could very well be true that Trump is escalating faster than he otherwise would have because of the Epstein files. That doesn't mean he wouldn't have still done all this terrible shit, but it's possible that the timeline moved up.

There's a difference between an outside powerful military committing a coup vs the people themselves rising up. That's not to say the latter can't have issues or be influenced by foreign actors, but it's definitely not the same as Iraq or Libya.
