Eventually the concentration of “stolen IP” will be high enough that rights holders may go to gumroad or vrchat and attack them as opposed to the user. Which will then cause rules to change.

Im not like pro-IP-hoarding or something.
A copy is unlikely to be met with legal action, it can be, and I guess the trade off is does the exposure boost from the recognizable IP outweigh the consequences of a DMCA/legal.
Although as more IP theft occurs it draws ire towards the platforms

But I get why people do it, it’s easier to reach people with something they already like as opposed to something completely original but it’s a risky game especially if you copy a litigious company’s work.
