The problem with Silicon Vallety is the megalomania of its billionaires. They listened to Curtis Yarvin, a self-proclaimed intellectual. Yarvin told them that a president is nothing more than a startup founder, which is bullsh*t. A normal person would hear the bull and move on. They want to believe.

This is the problem with engineers in general (and I’m one of them). Most of our jobs are about simplifying problems and then we think it’s a heuristic that applies everywhere. Also, Dunning Kruger is usually quite strong with engineers.
