Blogging Bitcoin
@bloggingbitcoin.bsky.social
I write a blog about bitcoin and freedom tech.

https://blogging-bitcoin.com

I haven't finished reading it, but I actually agree with much of this.

I think we can use public key cryptography (without a blockchain) to take power away from corporations that get the printed out of thin air government bucks before 99% of the people.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Does calling people names make you feel better about yourself?

Does being a dick make you feel better about yourself?

I'm trying to get to the bottom of the bitcoin hatred on this site.

Do you believe anyone should have the right to protect the fruits of their own labor?

Should the money I earn at my minimum wage job buy me more or less stuff ten years from now?

Maybe "applied cryptography" would have been a better phrase, but I'm not lying.

I write on nostr. All my blogs are signed with my private key.

Have you heard of nostr?
July 3, 2024 at 2:29 PM
Thanks anyway.

I'm not a crypto bro, but I perseverate on public key cryptography, an obscure branch of mathematics that's been around for a couple thousand years.

I avoid the CrYpTo BrOs.

May I please use this quote in my book?
July 3, 2024 at 1:48 PM
Does that make you feel better? Does saying mean stuff make your life more fun?

Monkey jpegs are a scam.

You can make them unspendable, but it's not a good idea.

I didn't misread the room. I know this is hostile territory. I'm telling my story anyway.

"Lost coins only make everyone else's coins worth slightly more. Think of it as a donation to everyone."

-- Satoshi Nakamoto, June 21, 2010.

Therefore, it's a bad idea to keep your bitcoin on a hard drive only. It's better to use military grade stainless steel.

Right, but it tends to go up. When I send a thousand sats, my wallet says it's about 69¢ so I know a whole coin is worth about 69k. The actual price is $69,340.

It's not hard once you get used to to it.

I got into bitcoin because I was(and still am) against fractional reserve banking.

I buy Starbuck's gift cards with bitcoin on the lightning network using Bitrefill.
June 10, 2024 at 8:02 PM
Without looking it up, how much do you think a whole bitcoin costs these days?
June 10, 2024 at 7:59 PM
I use bitcoin for micro payments everyday. I began writing my blog to counter this narrative, but even most bitcoin nerds don't know how to use the lightning network.

Agreed, like a sales tax.

What does your portfolio look like?

It's a trick I learned on nostr to keep my out of my bubble. What is your preferred 2nd person pronoun? I only ask because I have no idea how they/them works.

I think very few young people can afford to live because older people spent the money before they were born.

Bitcoin solves the double spending problem.

It can be programmed to fund charities every year for a hundred years.

Why does Matt Hope think it's a scam?
