I would add, if you want to read Ulysses, and have a hard time getting into it, find a reading group. No need to go it alone. If you can't find one, start one. If you're into online groups, check out Sweny's or @ulysses80.bsky.social

An aspect of reading Ulysses is becoming uncomfortable with not understanding something. There's an artistic intention behind the structure of Ulysses, not just the plot, characters, etc. Experiencing and wrestling with that complexity is part of experiencing this particular work of art.

I haven't been able to get pumpkins to grow in my garden, but these grow really well. I don't really like them though, so I grow them just for Halloween, as nature intended
