sometimes, empathy keeps us from recognizing the relationships that drag us down from the goal of a better life for all of us. i can hold empathy for your struggles while recognizing your behavior and attitude is counterproductive. im not required to hold space for it. figure it out without me.

i believe in everyone’s right to suck equally while still receiving food, shelter, health care, autonomy, and safety.

but we don’t have that in this system. we still have to fight for it. just because we deserve it doesn’t mean it’s real.

i’m so tired of these traits being normalized as quirky or charming. to me, these are serious failings as an individual asking for more community while contributing none of it.
