anger is a valid emotion. what’s not okay is directing it outward, using it as an excuse to hurt others. god no wonder feyre put up with tamlin for so long. Her whole family was fucked, she loved the first thing to show her kindness and would have stayed and broken herself despite the violence

another reason i dislike nesta: i hate when someone’s default emotion/defensive mechanism is to be angry, and direct that anger towards others who did NOTHING wrong. Growing up having to walk on eggshells around my own family was traumatic. It fucks with you so bad in so many aspects of your life.

for no reason except that that’s her default/knee jerk emotional state. it made me so angry seeing her be normal with amren and others. feyre did everything she could, it’s literally not her fault. Imo, their relation would have been discovered somewhere down the line with who tamlin sided with…

and tried to make them less awful/more sympathetic after publishing the first book (very evident) bc they were actually going to be written in to the story moving forward so that’s the only way I can kind of allow for it. And yet nesta continues to treat feyre like shit in acowar :)

If the second pair is who i think it is, then they don’t even make sense to me 💀 i said what i said. Also why the hell did her oldest sister who loves to garden and grow flowers…not grow food for them? or even grow flowers to sell for money? Surely there could have been SOME money to be made??

also the whole mates thing. I’ve seen spoilers and seriously the fated mates thing will feel over done by the time i get to those parts. Once is enough and unless she drops more lore/the third fated mates pair shows how you can reject the mating bond, i don’t want more fated mate pairs

reason why i liked acotar: the main character struggled and literally lost her life at the end of the book despite struggling and stuff. Compelling. Brought back to life through magic, fine, allowed. But a few months of training and she can beat the hybern twins with a thousand years’ practice?

it’s not like the series is bad, or the writing is terrible (in terms of grammar, syntax, etc). but idk the plot feels like it’s dragging, the characters involved with our MC are very OP, her sisters seem irredeemable at this point in time (how tf will we be gaslit into liking them later?)

I’m 1/3 of the way through acowar and considering DNFing it 😩 i realized i only finished the first 2 because I read them while on a flight (one book flying there, the second book flying back).

makes me want to reread thousand autumns. MXS has some incredible and profound writing, i wish i knew enough chinese to read it in its original language because i know it would be even more so!

i’ll keep this positive. i’m sometimes blown away at how amazing things are. how incredibly grateful i am to be able to breathe fresh crisp air, taste delicious new food, hear snow fall (yes it has a sound!), feel sunlight and waves on my skin. notice the beauty in nature.

and also spent months seeing jude on a daily basis. I’m sure they both have unique tells that give them away. i know a few ppl with twins irl and even identical twins are easy to tell apart once you spend time getting to know them. they become so different and distinct in your mind

also i am not surprised at all that cardan knew it was jude and not taryn come for the questioning in QON. Yes they are identical twins but also their own separate people who are actually quite different from one another. cardan loves jude, took classes with both sisters for years and +

Like i want to know what locke and taryn said during their vows, how life was like after their marriage, the crap locke did, why she has the faerie fruit in her breakfast marmalade (to keep her on an emotional high to combat how shit things were with her life/locke? Or deal with the parties etc?)
