What are your thoughts about the Medicare drug negotiation clause in the Inflation Reduction Act? It felt like a small step in the right direction in pushing down costs even if it was only for 10 or so drugs.

That's definitely a question Dems should be wrestling with especially as the population gets older (see what's happening in the UK). But we need to keep health costs low in the meantime especially since it buys political/moral time for Dems to figure something out.

Am I crazy in thinking if James Cleverly hadn't gotten too cute with gaming the Tory leadership contest and was leader instead of Badenoch the Tories would be fighting Reform UK for first place?

Waymos and other autonomous vehicles will be a net benefit to society especially for the elderly who shouldn't be driving especially when they become impared. But a lot of gig drivers and whatever is left of the taxi industry will lose their jobs.

I definitely think AI, if used, developed correctly can benefit society more than hinder it.
But there will be people made losers because their jobs no longer exist. How do we avoid a repeat of deindustrialization which among other things helped led us to the populist movement we are in?
