There's definitely a version of this story where they act the way you expect, but I, and most of your replies, wholeheartedly disagree that what we got is improbable. They're still in shock, still coping, in denial, BECAUSE it's only been 12 days

-The others all have family still "living"
-This kind of event is unimaginable, so the amount of cope and behavior informed by trauma, that you read as sociopathic, makes a lot of sense

I think I barely used the pogo, just clawline, so architect wasn't a huge downside there. Maybe trivializes was the wrong word, but it certainly did a lot of heavy lifting in the "keeping me sane" department by cutting down on the time between attempts. Did you make it to the fabled surface again?
