We don’t need to trust the Bulwark crowd, though I think many are trustworthy: Nichols, Last, Miller, Longwell, etc. Even the Lincoln Project guys, for all their sleaze, are useful allies. I won’t give them money, or support Conway’s congressional run, but I am glad they are in the fight.

A new owner would be a good start. I was a kid the last time the League intervened to exorcise Mara influence, in 1979. That led to the first two championships. Of course, it helped that the Saints passed on Lawrence Taylor two years later.
I’m glad Leo Williams has a chance to win something.

Any similarly kind words of encouragement for Giants fans will be appreciated. Please omit any mention of Russell Wilson. The sooner we forget that episode of self-delusion, the sooner we start building a real NFL team.

Daniels is a spectacular talent. The question was always whether his body could take the pounding the NFL inflicts on a QB who leaves the pocket. You might be in for a decade of high peaks when JD plays and deep valleys when scrap-heap vets replace him.

Many of us projected our fantasy of “Good Republicans” onto Senator Sasse, so he often fell short, in NE, DC, and FL. His illness, and his family’s other struggles, are private tragedies worthy of sympathy and compassion. We can feel sorrow for their loss without inflating his legacy.

We know Sen. Argall well in NE PA. He is highly effective at his job, which is to ensure that state government remains frozen in gridlock as long as a Democrat occupies the Governor’s office.

Especially disheartening because PA-08 had one of the House’s most honest, devoted public servants until Bresnahan rode a Northeast PA red wave into Congress. As a former Arlen Specter Republican, I’m proud to call myself a Matt Cartwright Democrat, and even prouder to call Matt a friend.
