Then the Rodney King beating was videotaped. Those cops walked, but the damning evidence was a single fuzzy analog video taken from a distance that only started halfway through the beating. And it took days for the video to hit the media.

Cops have been executing people (mostly but not exclusively Black and Brown people) and then lying about it for generations. And for most of that time it was easy to get away with it, because there was rarely enough evidence to contradict their lies.

Everyone should remember: the economic value in Facebook, TikTok and X is not actually in control of the owners. The value is in the users. When users abandon them, the value evaporates.
