Inktober day 8- Reckless
For this drawing I wanted to try and replicate the kind of art you'd see in early Yugioh spell/trap cards. If I come back to redo this drawing, I'd likely make it into a spell card.

Two soldiers fighting, one taking a glancing blow in order to make a lethal blow on the enemy.
As a spell card for Yugioh, the effect would be this:
quickplay spell card
"using this card activates two effects:
- Destroy one monster card on the enemies side of the field
- the monster on your side of the field with the highest ATK loses 1000 ATK. if your monster's ATK becomes 0, destroy your monster as well. This effect persists after this card is removed from the field."

Both effects can not be negated by any monster effect and the second effect can not be negated any card effect.

Inktober day 6- Pierce
I've been meaning to practice weapon designs and had the urge to draw a spear for this theme. Though all things considered I suppose this is more of a lance at the end of the day 🤔

a double ended spear/lance that extend over the hilt from both ends to act as a guard. while it flies through the air, it spins to add extra power on impact.

Inktober day 5- deer
Okay so kind of cheating with this one, but I've been wanting an excuse to redraw this creature I call a Tedalope and it's kinda deer like. I can say it's in the deer family.... twice removed...

One of my favorite creature designs, the Tedalope is a 6 legged deer like creature with a trunk that's basically useless for anything a trunk would be used for. it's antlers are weirdly simple and it's tail is rubbery, able to stretch out. But the most remarkable thing about this creature is its seemingly supernatural ability to avoid harm. No matter how you attempt to harm it, some weird act of fate causes it to keep it from being hurt.

Inktober day 4- Murky
I figured the most common choice for this theme would be a creepy face hiding in murky water, so I instead wanted to hide some kind of ancient building.

As mentioned I didn't want to do a creepy face and decided to draw a building obscured by murky water. I was going to try to draw something hidden in fog but I wasn't sure if the term murky could refer to anything beyond water that is hard to see into. interestingly enough, large underwater structures affect my thalassophobia just as much as large underwater creatures.

Inktober day 3- crown
I think I'd like to come back to this design after Inktober is over. there's stuff I find difficult to express without colors about this design (like the center point not being gold like the rest of the crown).

I made this crown to be somewhat simple but still elegant. the defining feature is unfortunately hard to show without color being the center piece being a point on the crown thats colored differently than the rest of the crown. I know the crown would be gold, not so sure what the center point would be, I'd play with some different options but at the moment I'm kind of thinking silver. The inside of the crown has a smaller version of those big hats you sometimes see in crown designs.

Inktober day 2 - Weave
unlike day 1, day 2 here was way harder to decide on. ended up doing a sort of mage "weaving" magic into the sky.

As I mentioned I had some trouble coming up with a good concept for this. Most ideas for the theme of weave are very complex to try and do. I settled on drawing a mage casting a spell that weaves together into the sky, facing open water. if I were to flesh this out more I'd make it apparent that he's casting two different spells in each hand and they're weaving together to make a new one. possibly two elemental spells when woven together make a thunder storm in the sky.

My first Inktober :D
I decided to make things a bit easier for myself while also practicing my line work on my drawing pad by doing digital sketches (I can flesh out anything I like later). Day 1 theme is mustache.

As soon as I read the theme, I could hear the mustache song from Dragon Ball Z Abridged getting louder and louder in my head... so it was pretty easy to pick what to draw from there.

For the design I wanted to have a more traditional Halloween look and vibe. I knew werewolf was a must but decided to go with the semi humanoid werewolf design. for the arm, instead of a robotic arm I thought it'd be fun to have a severed arm with a literal phantom limb. for the other arm I decided to go with a green spectral claw to make it stand out a bit more.

It’s titled “Today’s World of Con Artists” and it reads: Speaking about 'societal evils, I think that as Al continues to spread throughout society, we're going to see an increasingly shady world filled with scammers exploiting it. Recently, I came across a drawing and thought, "This is something I drew, right?" I was shocked to find out it was actually created by Al. When I draw manga, I add subtle, personal elements that make the work uniquely mine. But this Al-generated piece even mimicked details like the way I draw eyelashes, so precisely that it was almost impossible to tell it apart from my work. If it were based on recent drawings, I'd know right away, "No, I didn't draw this." On the other hand, I honestly wouldn't be able to tell the difference if it were done with my art from about ten years ago, when my memory of it would be a little hazy. The more Al advances, the more this kind of thing will happen.
Art reflects the times, and manga is one example of that. Seeing this world of con artists appear in manga could very well mean that we're headed for a future world dominated by fraudsters. This type of 'evil' in today's age will undoubtedly end up impacting manga down the line.
Copyright infringement by Al is also a 'villain' that we manga artists must face. The extreme scenario is that Al-generated fakes might start being accepted as the "real thing," and even if we try to protect our work, these counterfeits are becoming so accurate and sophisticated that it's no longer a fight an individual can win. Having some kind of laws would probably be the only way to regulate this. However, because we're dealing with a world of con artists, there's also a very real possibility that laws favoring them will appear before we know it. Personally, I entrust my copyright management to Shueisha, but some manga artists are lax in managing their copyrights, leading to others using their artwork without permission or even leaking original drawings.

The plan from the start was to have the first 2 forms start out as fire/electric then trade one type for dragon. I settled on removing fire due to the fact dragon is pretty related to fire and to help sell the cyber half better.
Their ability would likely end up being something that allows them to have a STAB bonus with fire type moves or maybe being able to cause burn from electric type moves

Happy to see people playing the BioShock series. It's one of my all time favorites and to me is a master class in game design. I still remember my first time seeing this game and how weird it was seeing bees come out of a guys arm to attack a diver with a drill arm.

Played the Dead as Disco demo and it has officially made it into an exclusive club with only one other member (Metal Hellsinger) of rhythm games I can both play and am excited for. Can't wait for the full release.

My fakemon region's first convergent evolution pokemon, mimicking the Mankey line. Its a mix of the invasive Rhesus monkeys found in Florida as well as the skunk ape, Florida's bigfoot.

Regional Shellder and evo for my fakemon region I am calling the Flocua region. The name draws from Florida and one of the largest extinct Native American tribes that lived in Florida .The evolution is based on the Shellders beta evolution.

Flocuian Shellder - the fanged bivalve pokemon
Type: Water
believed to be the original Shellder species, it uses its tongue to move in the water and launch itself out of the water.
Generally more aggressive than their more wide spread counterparts, they will launch themselves out of the water and use their teeth to bite the tails off slowpoke.

Taabander - the fanged bivalve pokemon
Type: water/dark
Taabander is the result of a Flocucian Shellder biting the tail off a Slowpoke. This form is seen only in other Shellder after latching onto the tail of a slowpoke, evolving into slowbro.
The shell of Taabander have barnacle like openings to allow its tongue like appendages to pop out for mobility, defense and offensive use.

Here is the Asari/Krogan Hybrid. Something I decided while drawing this is the hybrid forms appear between the mid maiden stage, early matron stage of their life. Reverting to a pure asari form by their matriarch stage, keeping some advantages.

Asari-Krogans, while not as resilient as pure blooded krogans, do bolster redundant internal systems and some of the durability Krogans are known for. Usually hot headed and combative, Asari-Krogans are far more likely to become Justicar than most other Asari due to the challenge it presents. Those who do not care for the Justicar code tend to join mercenary groups or become commandos sate their krogan nature.
Even after they reach their matriarch stage, Asari who were asari-krogan in their younger years retain the redundant organs and partial extended lifespan, being able to reach the maximum lifespan of a krogan who made it to their twilight years.

First art for a new series of art I'm doing, making hybrid Asari. Playing Mass Effect, I always thought it'd be neat if the Asari took on physical traits from the father species. Decided to rip off the band aid with an Asari/Hanar first.

The Asari-Hanar are very intelligent and very polite due to the upbringing of Hanar culture. Generally, these hybrids tend to be taller than average due to the added Hanar genetics. Its common for them to refer to themselves in the 3rd person when speaking to strangers, but possible for them to actively choose not to when estranged to their Hanar parent. While not as accomplished swimmers as the Hanar, they are inherently very quick swimmers and able to hold their breath for hours at a time.
Asari-Hanar are able to use the tentacles on their head as a way to stand or walk around by utilizing the same mass effect fields Hanar use in normal gravity environments. while physically weaker than a pure blood Asari, they are also able to secrete toxins from the tentacles on their head and from their fingertips if threatened as a means of self defense in high stress situations.

A small creature that lives inside flowers in a symbiotic relationship. the creature gets a safe home to keep itself safe while the flower benefits from the shared nutrition from the sun the creature gets, strengthening the plants main body to support the extra weight from the creature.

at night the creatures eyes glow to ward off small animals that would otherwise try to eat the flower at night. insects such as ants avoid the flower thinking a predator took up residence in the flower while larger animals will be more likely to avoid the flower out of instinct.

For the longest time I have wanted to draw my own Station of Awakening from Kingdom Hearts. Finally felt like I had the ability to make one. could have posed it better but I like how it came out.

The design for this station of awakening is based around the universe I made for my OC. Don't really have a lot of plans for it but would be fun to flesh out one day. I learned a lot about design concepts with stations of awakening designs I wasn't familiar with like how they mostly follow a single color but do have a few secondary colors added into the background. I'll want to try this again after getting a bit more experience and knowing how these should look.

the fur tail dragon from a distance looks like it has a fluffy mammal like tail, but in reality the "fur" is made of long, feather like scales made to regulate body temperature. the wings on its back are built in a similar way, but allow for gliding by catching air as the dragon descends from a high place. this gliding mechanic makes mountains an ideal place for the dragon to make its nest.
