My husband literally asked this in his undergrad but in reverse. Asked the theory professor why they were calling it a [insert German or French whatever 6 chord] instead of diminished…

I'm better this morning. Made a rookie mistake in my first time as a thesis chair and the consensus is I'm beating myself up too much about it. Fix it, flush it, move on. Time to bake pies.

Thankfully, I did not have to sit in on the school of music one. At least CAEP can be submitted digitally!!! NASM wanting hard copies took a whole forest of paper.
