I was feeling so good after watching the Rangers dominate a beaten up Bruins squad but this first period against the Lightning has certainly brought me back down to earth.

Kinda wild how different the lineup feels with Trocheck. He scored his second of the game and season to put the Rangers up 6-3.

The Rangers goals continue to be weird ones. Trocheck got his first of the season after sending it past Vasilevskiy who fell when trying to slide over to square up to him.

The Lightning scored a shorthanded goal and were so incredibly close to getting a second shorthanded goal. Rangers power play was not on the same page. I love the idea for the second unit but it’s clear they need more time practicing together.

Sabourin with an incredible wrist shot beat Igor to cut the lead to one. Nothing against Scott Sabourin, but I did not think he had that in him.
