Patriarchy is a mental illness. Pro-democracy, atheist, game developer, believer in experts. I worship my wife and that's enough for me. 💙 Tryna be a warrior for democracy but still searching for the front line.
It sounds like to him, “worthless” and “fat” are synonyms. Which gives us two overlapping red flags:

a) Judging people based on appearances
b) Dehumanizing anyone by assigning them a zero value

Scratch the surface and I expect you’ll find a boring garden variety fascist.

Exactly. There are some extremely positive and uncontroversial applications for machine learning also, but they don’t get as much attention as the more morally ambiguous ones. For example you can improve wind turbine efficiency with an ML powered load balancing algorithm.

I like to compare AI to genetic engineering. The technology itself is not harmful to society and it may have some beneficial uses. But, the present applications are, broadly speaking, mostly harmful to society, and people naturally point the blame at the technology.

These bros need to go back to kindergarten to re-learn why pulling girls' hair is not funny.

I'll have you know I actually threw some obsolete cables in the trash can already today, before you even mentioned it.

Americans: don't worry, it doesn't matter whether you try to vacation in a different country, we will be there and we will be assholes. You can count on it.

The Golden timeline is one where Trump found his true calling as a pro wrestling heel manager.

LOL I googled her. Her LinkedIn says her thing is "fixing the global infertility crisis" but her self-titled web page says she has courses on cryptocurrency. That's the thing with grifters...instead of being on Easy Street they seem to be constantly thirsty for the next sucker.

It's not that impressive. He probably just rolled around in some money before he came into the office, and the aroma set off Trump's little mushroom chubby.

A syllogism by the President of the United States:

* People can be expected to lie constantly and unashamedly whenever they are "campaigning."
* I, Donald Juliet Trump, am always "campaigning."
* Therefore, I can always be expected to lie constantly and unashamedly

Isn't this putting Mikey to a a rather high bar? The constitution was only ratified 12,552 days ago. How is he supposed to keep up with current events while also keeping track of all the lies he's in charge of promoting?

Well, I heard that when he was a kid, his mom took him to McDonand's and he used a plastic straw. I don't understand why we have to settle for imperfect candidates like that.

They'd see that and say, the problem there was that the GIs didn't shoot the camera man.

My wife is losing her hearing, and it's been an education for both of us, learning about ablism and how society treats disabled people. But mostly it has just made her sad and anxious and scared, and to make a joke out of it would be so cruel that I'm getting pissed off here just imagining it.

It's a supply and demand thing. Pardons used to be hard to get, but he's starting to run out of customers, so the rates have to go down. Basic economics.

Only about half of fertilized eggs implant in the placenta, in humans. So half of all human conception events end in abortion just according to our biology.

Right, yeah, tariffs aren't taxes, war is peace, ignorance is strength, freedom is slavery, up is down...did I miss any?

There's a "day" for every time a corporation thought they could make a few extra bucks selling someone something, limited only by the number of days in the year.

That's the kind of navel gazing attitude that can lead a person to be jealous of someone's wheelchair.

I think we may need to start educating schools children in misinformation. And on the first day they should talk about whataboutism.
