If Freedom of Speech is only for citizens (it's not), by extension, corporations can no longer fund elections.

What is the proper response to, "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."?

Well, obviously it is, "You had me at Hello"

Schumer's excuse is that shutting down the Government is worse because Trump would get to decide what's essential.

How is that different than what's happening now?

If you want to shrink/dismantle the government/balance the budget, leave it up to the people.
Just raise enough revenue to cover the current expenses.
If the people find the outflows are worth the provided services, then we're great. Otherwise, they can decrease the services that aren't worth it.

It's interesting that so many people are up in arms about what the Musk administration is doing, and yet almost no one is pointing out that the real travesty is the lack of action by Congress. For Decades. This, spurred on by exorbitant amounts of money in elections, is the underlying cause.

So many complaints (and rightly so) about the insanity being spewed out by the Orange God King. And yet absolute silence about the real problem.
Money has corrupted the system so that Congress will not do their job. They could legislate and obviate all of the problems being addressed by Exec Orders

Interesting that the Orange Beast whose number is 666 mentioned McKinley on day 1. Hopefully, this is foreshadowing.

I would support the use of AI to filter out fake news and the automated replacement of provably false statements by politicians with the truth.

I wholeheartedly support the use of AI to remove the most disturbing posts (and preferably posters) from social networks instead of paying a human to have to see that stuff.
