I love reading, animals including reptiles, knitting. Am a retired librarian enjoying life.
I noticed an ad to Defend the homeland Join ICE running on the Mahjong game I usually play online. Horrified I deleted the app. Yet I felt sad that something I occasionally did to escape the world for a moment was tainted

Walking my dog I heard this guy yelling at a couple “This is a nice neighborhood we don’t need this here” Drugs? Guns? But I guess it was standing close together and kissing.

Inspiring to hear words from King’s letter from Birmingham Jail read at our No Kings Rally yesterday

Despite constant rain we had a good turnout in our town for No Kings Rally and then 150 people lined up later in front of Walmart

My major achievement for today: got most of my driveway clear of ice so at least I can take Shea for a walk…she’s very particular about where she does her business

Growing up in an alcoholic family I felt as a child my parents drinking was my fault. I have to shake myself and think being a caring compassionate person is not a bad thing. It messes with your mind sometimes.

My friend heard someone at the grocery store say “that Musk is a smart guy maybe he can get in there and fix things” it is hard for me to understand how disenfranchised people felt by Biden

When the Dog Control white van drives past, is this the equivalent of ICE for my dog?

Temp is 11 with minus wind chill and getting some lake effect snow. Feel like a hardy New Yorker having walked my dog this morning—keeping an eye to make sure she wasn’t cold. She dived in to a snow drift to eat a discarded roll

Where are homeless people suppose to go during the day? Most shelters only open in the evening, but it is cold during the day. People complain they are in public places.

I just paid two guys to shovel my sidewalks. Times are tough for a lot of people in my town and snow is an opportunity to pick up some money. And my dog liked them

Walking back home I thought I grew up in a dysfunctional family, worked 34 years in a dysfunctional workplace and live in a dysfunctional country but I am a survivor.

I really like all the colors that make up winter. This is a close up of our front hedge. Just looking for beauty in this world.

My dog’s idea of a nice walk in an almost white out snowstorm is go 2 miles and climb over knee high snow drifts. Now safely home with tea and a book.
