The White House Peace Vigil, widely considered the longest continuous act of political protest in U.S. history, was dismantled by federal law enforcement Thursday night after its more than 40-years of standing.

Parts of the vigil were removed earlier this month after Trump ordered, “Take it down.” On Thursday night, only the vigil volunteers and some signs remained.

This Day in Labor History: March 19, 1917. The Supreme Court upheld the Adamson Act, passed the year before and which created the eight hour day on the railroad. This was a shocking decision that created the principle of the federal government intervening in the labor conditions of private industry!

One reason why I think respectability is stupid is because it's often used as a mask. Such judgements are rarely about the clothes themselves, but more often about the bodies beneath them. To wit, no one raised an issue when Elon wore a graphic t-shirt and ball cap to meet the Trump cabinet.

NEW: The board president of a small WV nonprofit says they haven't received their HHS funding since the Trump/Musk budget freeze. They had to lay off 3 of 5 employees on Friday. An 86-yr-old woman is counting on them to take her dialysis tomorrow. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
