xG is an absolutely useless stat now.

It does come back to the point you made at the weekend - needing passing ability at the base of midfield. If we want to pass out from the back we need passing ability in the space in front of the CBs otherwise we are reliant on Porro and Romero and that is too predictable.

Small caveat - Bergvall is trying but seems to be isolated and has to go find the ball rather than expect it to be given to him

He was also a liability if he was too close to his goal and tried something too intricate or risky.

Definitely needs to be in the team but we should let him have a really high starting position to maximise damage to the opposition and minimise impact on our own goal
