Spending much of my time thinking about how we cultivate community both offline and online, especially fandom. Currently obsessing over DanDaDan, Arcane, Persona 5. I will always go back to Zutara 🔥🌊

Consultant gigs are basically a given for Starmer anyway.

I definitely think that was the case in 2017 and 2019 but I'm not sure I'd go far enough to say they're ruining things on purpose now. Surely their pride is too important if nothing else. No one wants to be a Liz Truss. Plus it wouldn't benefit corps to tank a perfectly servile party.
blush-of-the-dawn.bsky.social
Yes but thats not the whole picture considering the faction currently in charge was trying to oust Corbyn from 2017. They can only keep that funding as long as they're in power so in some some they want to do well electorally.

Irish is a much more phonetically consistent alphabet than English and is significantly older than English. Its a very intuitive and easy to learn language. Its now a minority language after 800 years of deliberate attempts to kill it. Not everything should be viewed through an anglocentric lens.

It's a joke on the double meaning of the lyrics "Redwood Tree, it ain't hard to see"

This piece from indie insights is so lovely and does a better job summing up the game than my many clumsy attempts.

"It looks like a delightful, charming, and genuinely innovative take on the idle genre, prioritizing your relaxation over a constant grind[...] It promises a small, quiet, and satisfying kind of magic."

A lovely piece from @indieinsights.bsky.social.

All it has to do was have a passable ending and I'd have been happy enough but actively makes me feel less fond of characters from the last game. It felt so rushed and it sidelined its own protagonist.
blush-of-the-dawn.bsky.social
The ending of Hades 2 sucked and I can't believe this game was written by the same people. Not a single satisfying character arc in the whole thing. And the sapphic romances are so flat by comparison to the first game.

It looks like perfect ergonomics for spreading butter, its environmentally friendly because its made from recycled kerrygold tubs, and its so pretty. Praying I get one this time (maybe even two)
blush-of-the-dawn.bsky.social
Only time Ive ever been jealous of influencers is when Ive seen them rocking Kerrygold crocs with cow jibbitz

The lengths I'm willing to go for for this butter knife is not healthy lol
A screenshot showing two alarms set for Friday 10th of October morning. The alarms say kerrygold x all day 9am restock

I'm on the slowest bus line in the city with the slowest buses in the nation to talk to New Yorkers about what it would mean for their lives if we made them fast and free.
Zohran sits on a bus talking to a rider sitting behind him.

Don't get me wrong their leadership is what led to this horrible oppressive racist transphobic political climate in the first place and they can rot. Its just that Labour are the exact same now and Reform will be almost Trump levels of bad if they get in.

I miss when Prime Ministers didn't last as long as a head of lettuce 😂. Friends asked yesterday when the next gen election is because everyone was so used to voting every year or so.
blush-of-the-dawn.bsky.social
Labour saw all the things the Tories did that led to them being virtually wiped out after decades in power and said let's do this but more. Mandatory digital ID, criminalising protestors, arresting Irish artists for terrorism, racist dogwhistle after racist dogwhistle.
blush-of-the-dawn.bsky.social
I think part of the reason Tories did so badly last election wasn't just because of their incompetence but that their leadership tried to out racist their competition which alienated the part of their base that just shops at waitrose is scared of their 2nd holiday home being taxed.
blush-of-the-dawn.bsky.social
To be clear fuck the Tories and the Tory Party but when their replacements are foaming at the mouth racist gammons you can't feel too enthusiastic. Looking at 18 year olds wearing blazers with too many teeth in their head speaking up for diversity feels like a throwback to a simpler time.

God you know Reform are scary and Keir Starmer is awful when I'm seeing clips from the Tory party conference and feeling a weird nostalgia. Its 25% private school boys named Harold, 35% women called Physillis who run the local tidy town, 15% farmers who breed horses and the rest minor aristocrats

I'm very lucky I didn't have work today 😅

Especially because the mystery tension is really high in this one!

Also as someone with ADHD can I say great job with Zeb! I feel as though accidentally staying up all night reading a book is something he might do.

Read this in one sitting and my only complaint is that I wish it was longer. Though maybe its a good thing that it wasn't because I was only going to read a chapter before bed and then I blinked and it was 8 am. I'm probably going to have to read the final 10% again when I'm less sleep deprived.

Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:

Post from Threads user rodneyowl: "Ireland has declared the Basic Income for Artists scheme permanent. This will be officially announced in tomorrow’s budget. Details to follow. Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me 👌We’re just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. It’s been a roaring success. For every €1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got €1.46 back. Can’t argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."

We're very lucky that every Irish President in my lifetime so far has been amazing. From Mary Robinson - who went on to serve as UN Commissioner for Human Rights - to Mary McAleese, who was a huge advocate for LGBT rights from as early as the 1970s. Its a largely ceremonial role but an important one

It's between two women now. First is Catherine Connolly, a socialist who represented my constituency growing up. Second is Heather Humphreys, a centre-right politician. The last President, lovingly referred to as Miggeldy Higgins, served for 14 years.
President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins with his two dogs. He is small in stature, wearing a flat cap and long coat. He uses a walking stick. The dogs are massive black and white border collies.
