My mom made me read this book. I had very little interest, as a 13 year old boy, in reading this book. It wasn't about sports and it wasn't written by S.E. Hinton.
But it was the first book that ever made me cry.
I have two grandsons now. My son plans to model Atticus Finch as true masculinity. 💙
