On International Day of Women and Girls in Science we wanted to celebrate Dame Josephine Barnes who was the first woman elected president of the BMA with a unanimous recommended by council in 1978.

In the year of the 100th anniversary of BMA House we've been researching different aspects of building including the Council Garden. Inspired by the archive title Medical Botany, by Thomas Woodville, 1790, the garden is planted with medicinal plants to represent BMA members.
