happening, probably almost if not everyone, the best way to deny knowledge and pretend they would have opposed had they only known was to exaggerate an allegiance with Israel. And this, IMO, leads to such ignorance and overreach that denies the journalist the context of his statement.

actions and people of my generation (born late 70s) were often confronted with what had happened between 33 and 45, generations born before even more. This caused an overcorrection. Germany is not more or less antisemitic than any European country, but philosemitism was institutionalized. I have 2/

live there doesn’t mean I don’t know how it works. I’ve lived there, I’ve studied about it, I’m in touch and I read more American than local news. There are things they could do now. And now before you’ll get your panties twisted ;) I agree that the republicans deserve more of the blame. 2/2

and that’s what I’m blaming democrats for. I know they don’t have any majorities but they can speak up, protest, support those resisting. And, at least on this side of the pond, there’s not much to hear and see about the opposition actually opposing. I agree that the republicans are even worse 3/

and knowing that almost everybody was quiet when the first groups in opposition of the mustached villain were taken away by his street thugs. Pastor Niemöller said it best in his famous quote that watching it and saying nothing is pretty much allowing fascist leaders to get away with their crimes 2/

It’s not about that and I think you secretly know it. First off, not American, would never in my life even consider voting republican, am suffering a conservative chancellor who probably would love to emulate at least parts of Trumps BS. But, I’m very aware of our extremely problematic history 1/2

I agree, but at the same time the democrats are pussyfooting around this entire topic instead of trying to lead the way. It’s so upsetting because now could be a time to really position oneself.

You need more people and especially on both sides of the aisle to take this stance. They have the tools but most of them are too complacent and power-hungry to do anything that could provoke change.

Die Verantwortlichen hier profitieren von der Maschine aber genauso wie die Verantwortlichen der FIFA und wollen weiter ran an die Fleischtöpfe. Es gibt seit Jahren gute Gründe die FIFA zu verlassen. Aber ein Argument zieht einfach mehr als alle anderen: 💰💰💰

Und währenddessen werden weiter Lügen verbreitet um Zwietracht zu sähen, damit die unteren 40% nur in solch einem Kontext eine homogene Masse abgibt. Wann begreifen die Menschen, dass es möglich ist Mehrheiten zu finden, die diese Selbstbereicherung verhindern oder zumindest verringern könnte.
