“Waiting for the facts” is just wasting time for an official mechanisms of State power to construct their narratives which is to falsify documents, lie to the public and control the response.

I’m reminded of Jamie Kalven’s commentary that “coverup” isn’t the right framing or idea.
A paragraph that reads: “We often use the term “code of silence,” but it’s really a matter of narrative control. From the moment Laquan McDonald lay bleeding out on the ground, a narrative was forming about what happened, and within hours the city put out an account that was completely false about an aggressive, erratic young man who threatened the police. In order to sustain that false narrative, it proved necessary to intimidate witnesses, destroy evidence, falsify police reports, withhold public information from the public, stonewall the press, and, ultimately, pay out a $5 million settlement to the family in an effort to keep the video from coming out. Yet in the end, the official narrative utterly and completely cratered, and with it the political power of various actors—the mayor, the state’s attorney, the superintendent of police—creating a whole new political landscape in Chicago”

So what’s going on is that the federal government is running a massive domestic spying operation and getting local cops to do their dirty work once a car is stopped. They call this siloing of data “walling” it off from their true source.
Border patrol agents have many names for these stops “whisper” “intel” or “wall stops”. Those stops are meant to conceal—or wall off— the true reason for the stop being a federal agent sitting miles away, watching Data feeds who’s traveling on American roads and reduction who is suspicious according to documents and people interviewed by the AP.

For months, ICE, Border Patrol, and many other masked, unknown federal agents have forcibly shoved our neighbors into vans and out of Chicago at breakneck speeds. In some cases, federal agents intentionally crash into cars and attack the people inside of them. But Chicagoans are notoriously tough people and we’ve seen numerous organic, spontaneous mobilizations emerge to shatter ICE. That being said, our collective security culture needs to respond to the harsh reality that these governmental actors simply don’t care about our rights, humanity, or dignity. Last time they narrative was, "other IL police departments gave data to ICE but we trust *our* police."
