As an elected official from Northampton and a Party Guy™️ I’m very hesitant to say these results mean much for 26. But I think it reflects the voting realignment well and maybe how voter groups will sway next year. But off years going forward should be pretty good for Dems here

There’s no point in time where you have to hand it to John Fetterman, besides he’s not making it out of a primary

That’s cool but like Cali Dems aren’t likely to pick the next nominee as a Super Tuesday state the writing should be on the wall. It will be ones of those polling now at 2/3% that will be the eventual nominee no doubt

You’d have to pay ME to take a trip into New York and see a one man Jeff Ross show instead of using my time to see nearly anything else on Broadway

This in the context of last year is really enlightening isn’t it

This is a brutal list to stand behind!

1. That’s not how you states your original argument, the graphic you have clearly stresses bills passed.

2. The Lugar Center ranks Fitzpatrick who is a MAGA lapdog as the most bipartisan member so I think that’s a questionable standard of what’s bipartisan or effective legislation.

Is she ineffective because of that or not able to work well with others?
July 20, 2025 at 4:03 AM
There are 535 voting members of Congress are you saying the ones who don’t pass legislation aren’t effective? This doesn’t make sense most of them can’t pass legislation just based on party lines, party leadership, and general gridlock. Take my frm Rep Wild she only had 3 bills passed in 3 terms
July 20, 2025 at 4:03 AM
You’re leaving out where I said entrenched, and I feel that’s on purpose. If this metric worked Amy would have made it to her home states primary instead she couldn’t walk and chew gum she fell and got 12% in Iowa and lost to Bernie and Pete two people with no legislation passed!
July 20, 2025 at 3:54 AM
So you want someone that’s been there awhile and entrenched enough that leadership brings their bills to the floor because that’s a very real aspect of this. Peters is retiring I think Hoyer is too and I believe this is Amy’s last term as well. Age and tenure is apart of this
July 20, 2025 at 3:39 AM
If he brought M4A to the floor or so many other of his policies/agenda that inspires you it would fail or has failed! Or wasn’t brought up by leadership does that make him ineffective????
July 20, 2025 at 3:33 AM
Except it’s not! Nearly everything that passed under the Biden Admin required all 50 Senators and Harris tie breaker to pass. Bernie worked to pass that with all those Dems just because he’s not the prime sponsor doesn’t mean he’s ineffective or a bad policy wonk!
July 20, 2025 at 3:32 AM
This is an awful political take and not even a good governmental take. Most of those have been serving for decades, Pelosi got to pick and choose what bills came to the floor as speaker. Also what kind of bills are these? Is it renaming post offices? That’s something Bernie always gets mocked for.
