Unlike a lot of Villa fans, I am a shade worried about the xG issue. Not because I think we don't deserve to be where we are. Rather because it is somewhat unexplained why we are such an anomaly. I desperately want us to continue at this level and it's unclear how sustainable it is.

@mattburton72.bsky.social do you have any insight on how Liverpool can spend so much with breaching SCR? I get they have not spent much in the last few seasons so for PSR they have a lot of headroom. But SCR shouldn't care about that.

@jacobtanswell.bsky.social do you know whether the club are planning anything for the first home game. Could they seek permission to use the commemorative Sabbath shirt? Could they do a black arm band? Will they use the Ozzy TIFO? Would be great if they played a montage from the concert pre-game.

@jacobtanswell.bsky.social this maybe not that interesting compared to most of the stuff you write. But I would be super interested to know whether John Duran will count as a UEFA Club Trained player from January 26th? My reading of the rules says he does which will be helpful for CL squad spaces.
