After a series of defensive mistakes let the Yankees back into the series, the Blue Jays have to clean things up in the field. “We’ll see how we respond. That’s the most important thing: how we bounce back.” www.sportsnet.ca/mlb/article/...

With a sweep in reach, the Blue Jays made a series of defensive mistakes, giving the best lineup in baseball more chances.

"Sloppy. It was sloppy. It is what it is. It wasn't great.”

Up @Sportsnet, a look at where that leaves the Jays ahead of ALDS G4 www.sportsnet.ca/mlb/article/...
Blue Jays must tighten up defence ahead of Game 4
An oddly poor night in the field cost the Blue Jays in Game 3 against the Yankees. It may be more blip than trend, but either way, the defence must be rectified immediately if Toronto wants to advance...

Yankees overcome a 6-1 deficit to beat the Blue Jays 9-6

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. & Aaron Judge each hit memorable homers, Shane Bieber & Louis Varland were both hit hard & the Blue Jays made a series of costly mistakes in the field

Tomorrow: bullpen game vs. Cam Schlittler in G4

That's a four-hit game from Ernie Clement, who played through a broken bone in his hand for September but just never stopped contributing.

some really good swings from Santander lately

sorta wild that it's only been four innings

Two costly errors by Blue Jays: IKF and now Barger.

absolutely elite baserunning by Jays this inning

Thought that crossed my mind just now: most players can't hit elite pitching the way Vladimir Guerrero Jr. does. Remember that without his extension, Guerrero Jr. would be 26 years old & on the brink of free agency. There's risk in what the Jays did of course, but this not a player you want to lose.

Vlad Guerrero Jr. does it again. He has now homered in each of the three ALDS games. No-doubt shot to silence the boos for now.

from today's John Schneider avail

Q. At the start of this series, there was a fair number of pundits from around here who predicted the Yankees would get through this round pretty easily, cruise to the World Series. What message are you trying to send to that crowd?

JOHN SCHNEIDER: Don't have one.

John Schneider: “We’re treating this as though it’s a 0-0 series. You can’t take your foot off the gas.”

John Schneider says he packed one hat for this New York trip: the Blue Jays’ white panel hat and nothing else

Bo Bichette still progressing back in Toronto per John Schneider. No major status change as of now.

Meanwhile, Jose Berrios still not throwing.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. says today is an optional workout day for the Blue Jays but the entire team showed up.
