Kevin Burkhardt wearing a three-quarter zip under a sport coat with the three-quarter zip collar sticking out over the sport coat collar/lapel? Hmmmm. Hmmm..

God bless Alex Honnold! A great American athlete, artist, and inspiration! Blessings to his family and team!

Freaks & Geeks on Amazon. The last few episodes: Ben Stiller as a Secret Service agent; Lindsay Weir ditches the summer academic decathlon at UM to go on Dead Tour. “Ripple” plays over the final scene. Classic stuff, kids.

We always want to believe that our NFL team will build on its prior year if it came close but didn’t reach the ultimate goal. The reality is more like the fine print on investment vehicles: “Past performance is not indicative of future results.” But that’s also good news for a previously bad team.

The snow games today are great TV. Al Michaels on Mad Dog Unleashed last week talked about why the NFL is such great TV. He said he and Jimmy Johnson were talking on the field once and JJ said: “In the stadium, a 4-yard run is a 4-yard run. You (TV) guys can make a 4-yard run look like Armageddon.”

If you’re NE, do you give serious consideration to just kneeling down three straight times and punting on every possession? The Texans offense is the Pats’ best offense.

That Broncos TD at 0:22 in the 2nd quarter is a “champs” kinda play. Just sayin’

Sean McAdam is the best. But one correction from his Mad Dog Russo interview today: the Dead did not play at Altamont. The vibe was weird. They hit the bricks before their set. It’s part of the documentary.

There’s a Love Boat episode where Captain Steubing races another cruise ship captain, played by Ted Knight, on dog sleds on a dirt road in Ketchikan. Don’t tell me TV didn’t reach its zenith in the ‘80s.

How much do we appreciate that The Facts of Life was a spinoff of Diff’rent Strokes?

Bowl Season is the best. Cities all over hosting games. Quirky traditions, trophies, and mascots. Now with opt-outs and mystical portal quests, fans get to see players who didn’t necessarily get much action during the season, and that’s fun, too.

Eagles. That is all. Thank you.

Dear football announcers, stop saying “in phase” and “on schedule.” Those are made-up words for “running alongside” and “according to plan.” Thank you for your attention to this.

Love hearing that Pam Oliver has been inducted into the Sports Broadcaster Hall of Fame. So deserving. No one as great as Pam!

A play after — one play after — being gifted a first down on the other team’s side of the field in OT — OT, mind you — why are you running a play where you’re trying to fit a ball in super tight window with a qb who’s been a turnover dispenser all night?

Eagles have been chasing that Dallas debacle for 10 1/2 quarters of football now. Still ain’t caught up to it. Might never.
December 9, 2025 at 5:16 AM
At this point, even if they can pull it out, I don’t know what the point of Eagles winning the NFC East would be. They just don’t seem built for a playoff run, unfortunately.

PSU should have tried to hire Manny Diaz.
December 8, 2025 at 12:41 AM
Were it not for a miracle catch in the back of the end zone that people flipped out over it being the miracle of miraclest catches, PSU would have beaten this Indiana team. That is all. Thank you.

Listened to Mad Dog Russo (whom I revere and adore) and figured no reason to watch Big 10 Championship Game. Was wrong. This is must-watch college football.

I hope everyone has checked out “Death by Lightning” on Netflix. Outstanding. The book, “Destiny of the Republic” is even better.
