As cliche as it sounds, it is foolish to think that your mindset that you have had for the longest time is set in stone. One misfortune can shake the foundations of these thoughts in an instant. I just hope even the smallest bit of good can come out of this.

I hate to say it, but size bias is alive and well in US medical facilities. My left knee gave out 5 stairs up from a concrete floor and I smashed both knees into it. Take ambulance to ED. They take X-rays and take one look at my appearance. Because the X-rays , which don't show ligaments and tendons

Matthew 26:52 (not a religious man, but this is a poignant reference). The man in question died the way he lived: in hateful violence. This is a world he helped engineered. Nothing will change, it never does, but this is just a sign of the times

When I (a burnt out helpdesk lifer) get to the computer that I was assured was plugged into power (it wasn't) and it powers right up (the college intern is scared, so he just kinda rolls with it)
