"Agreeance" smells like old ink drying on brittle, crumbling paper.

(I'm not a lawyer but...) I don't believe so. Goes back to H.S. US History class - McCulloch v Maryland; basically says states can't throw an ace card on top of Washington.

Wait, what? Ohhh, Market Basket doesn't appear to have been included in the study. Gotcha.

This was intelligent, constructive feedback! Also, I'll agree that I'm lukewarm to the approach but not the intent.

As ownership moves from a local family to people further afield, how will it affect the multiple local charities the Herb Chambers group has supported these many years? I suspect not well...

I see the point but would like to add - while this week/month/year has been super uncomfortable - that President's weakly claiming a mandate isn't new. Does history provide a playbook for times like these?

Presidents often claim mandates − especially when they want to expand their power or are on the defensive
Donald Trump claims the 2024 election gave him a mandate. Scholars who study the presidency are skeptical about the entire concept of a mandate. That hasn’t stopped many presidents from claiming one.

Hey, Todd, this post gave me a question: any idea on why the English label on the Finnish beer? Geared to tourists? Ease of export? Something else? Legitimately curious.

In 2025, we are aiming to break ground on the world's first nuclear fusion reactor. Clean nuclear? Maybe? Science/Math guys at M.I.T. and about $2bn in investment seem to think so.

Well, it isn't exactly a global take but how do we feel about Ted Sizer? "Horace" was once mandated reading in grad school up in my neck of the wood - a sometimes necessary splash of cold water. The Coalition of E.S. was testimony to the belief schools can do better - its ghost haunts us still.

Well, on one hand, I don't love the shrinking of the community. Still, the AB connection to RB felt like an unwelcome adjunct in the brew. It made outcomes suspect - like when a company pledges to fix harassment via "internal audit." But maybe I'm wrong? If so, I would listen to why.

I'm late to this hello - but feel nerdy enough to say that I feel welcoming Z should be called an invocation for beginnings.

All my best.

Brockton, MA is the 5th(?) largest district in Massachusetts, maybe 15 miles south of Boston. Same cellphone issues as everywhere. The solution: stuff 'em in a sack. Apparently to great success/applause.
