All that matters though is what happens with china & the EU though. Functionally they’re the only 2 comparable economies in size to the US & they won’t back down.

For Japan it’s like 1-2% which is still really large but they’re a significantly larger economy and would be capable of taking in more product. Tbh should’ve stuck with the plan & formed a trading block with South Korea, China & try to get Vietnam in the mix.

You can’t plan out 70 bilateral trade deals at once in 2 days,
Japan might be able to get done but SK can’t cause it would require their government to spend like 4% of their gdp to balance trade with the US.

I even acknowledged the racism of republicans, America has that issue but there has to be a counter narrative from the opposition party and the democrats ran around with Dick Cheneys devil spawn

Americans have been primed for the past 50 years to prefer low prices of goods instead an increase in real purchasing power via higher wages which is so busted and wrong but the reality we live in and we need to acknowledge that

If consumer spending is up on the dollar figure that doesn’t mean that they bought more stuff it just means things people would’ve bought on Black Friday have gotten more expensive.
Also there are no Black Friday deals on eggs and other pantry goods lol.

The should’ve been sending Lina khan on the podcast circuit and been screaming that they were gonna invoke the DPA unless retailers brought prices down. Also should’ve put in more effort to normalize relations with Venezuela to get more oil.
