40. Professional illustrator, photographer, and cat dad. Mostly sharing whatever pops out at me and conserving my energy.
The bigger takeaway from this is learning that Gen Urobuchi's type is 1980s American wine moms.

Designing shirts like this is like the 4D chess of art, I swear. AI can imitate style, but it can’t generate file. And file is what I’m hired for. This is a five color screen print. My last two for Mad with Power were only fours I think. The greens here just had to be a flat. I couldn’t cheat them.

I will always be salty about this absolute downgrade in every possible regard.

I was going through my portfolio not long ago and thought about how I would like to redo this poster. And then a month ago, the original client came back and asked if I wanted to do just that. These images are something like 12 to 15 years apart.

One of my favorite stories about my wife is her and David Hayter (yes THAT David Hayter) drunkenly yelling at each other in the Copper Rocket parking lot about Matthew Broderick and this specifically.

Few fictional families are so authentically loving as the Forgers. They don't know it. But they absolutely love each other. Anyone who answers this question with this answer has never known what it is to be actually loved. This show is a damn instruction book on what a good marriage looks like.

I did this two screen Death Dealer design... a decade ago. Easy. It has been one of the most in demand pieces Frazetta Girls carries. Everytime they reprint it, it sells out. Now it's gotten the blacklight poster treatment, going live this Friday.

Bo-coded characters

The more I think about this, the more impressed I am at how well this covers me.

Better looks at the Krenkel. This thing is stunning. Definitely favorite among favorites. I would have bought one of the Lindsays on sale too but I decided to split my budget among the other acquisitions. One day!

Had an amazing weekend at OOAX catching up with old friends and making new ones. My big gets were a Roy Krenkel pencil study of Norman Lindsay and one of Earl Norem's color studies for Savage Sword. Also nabbed some Vampi sketches from Uko Smith and a James Martin Mad Max

My profile photo *is* me, btw. I did this shoot two years ago or so.

Timelapse of the vampi drawing of @lucyluciid.com

And yeah, I do a lot of my drawing that small at first. When I worked traditionally my sketchbook was full of tiny drawings like that. I just want the bones of an idea. I’ll save my energy for detail if I decide to finish it.

Finished up drawing @lucyluciid.com as Vampi this morning

Had to sketch @lucyluciid.com as Vampirella after seeing this pose earlier.

I am 1/4 of the way done after 5 months.

This is the damn truth. I got super burned out on dating this past year, but I had a dream about seeing someone new last night that was pretty rad. So who knows. Always accepting applications via this method, though, lmao. I think I'm officially in DILF territory now.

It's a mess. Classic open platform social media mess.

Part of my process is working out accuracy early and then losing as much of it as possible during the redraw. Like, I’m not even kidding. I do all my sketches super tiny and then enlarge them so that they’re kinda fuzzy. That way I do more interpretation during the redraw and rely less on the ref.

I hope this set gets nominated for an Eisner or something. It's insanely well done. It's probably the best made comic collection I've ever seen. Skybound and Image and everyone involved outdid themselves. GI Joe might not seem like a big deal now, but this comic series was influential and important

Oh for fucks sake. This thing is so heavy. Holy shit. It is so heavy.

I absolutely fucking hate the Christian appropriation of Superman. He's a Jewish character through and through. He was created to terrorize politicians, cops, CEOs, and bigots. He was even respecting a transwoman's pronouns in the 40s (she is also his first super villain, pre-dating Lex Luthor).
