I have to wonder if the members of the wealthy class even want this bill. Do you really want to kick an old lady out of a nursing home so you can see a slight uptick in your bank balance? It won't change your lifestyle much, but it will blast the lives of poorer people. Is this what you want?

The "three branches of government" theory isn't working. If Congress won't rein in Trump, and if Trump ignores the courts, then the fourth branch of government will have to step in: public opinion. Not sure how it works, but Trump is sensitive to it enough to backtrack on some of his orders.

How serious is this? Trump is murdering our government. If you liken the government to a body, he is cutting off the ears, eyes, teeth, hands, arms, feet, and legs. Unable to function as a government, it will fail, and Putin will step in to save us from ourselves, at Trump's invitation.

Congress has the power to stop the tariffs. They can vote to declare Trump's "emergency" over, and the tariffs null and void. We and the world must pressure Congress to do so. If Congress doesn't, they are complicit.
