Can't claim that he was the "best", but certainly the fastest (on his day) when I was growing up, was Rene Arnoux. Head forward, on a charge, pole-position, early lead, blown engine.

As an anorak fact that is somewhat of an eye-opener. A bit like describing a man who played Sunday League football on a local park that just happened to play one professional game, scoring the winner in the FA Cup final. The Nürburgring!

I do enjoy more of the 6th and 7th Doctor, which I regarded as childish in my youth. I can now appreciate the stories and overall atmosphere if I can ignore the intrusive score and the disco lighting. I do, still fall back on Pertwee and Tom Baker if I just want a wave of nostalgia.

All of it. With most stories I've read it, watched it, read about it, so my interest is often now the production, the acting, the effects, historical context. When I buy the Collections I often watch the documentaries first, then "Behind the Sofa".

Absolutely. It's all tied up with the context. I avoid the updated effects as it's not what was broadcast, even if they'd have loved the option at the time. Same thing with Blake's 7, it's a production with many parts.

For me it's timing. I read the novels at Primary school when my imagination ran wild and I had no cynicism. I saw the VHS' in my 20's and 30's and I could see the limitations. Interestingly I forgive the flaws in stories up to 1984, which was when I gradually stopped watching regularly.

As one of that 70's generation kids whose first encounter with the majority of stories was the Target novels I invariably found the VHS copies, that I later saw, to be a let-down compared to my imagination. Pyramids of Mars and Seeds of Doom were the exceptions.

I bought sets of his prints as Christmas cards for several years. Loved his work.

The issue is that a woman working full time on a decent salary cannot afford rent on a one bed flat and the cost of childcare to allow her to work

THAT’S what should be being called out

But the RW media don’t want people questioning THAT

Better to vilify those struggling to make ends meet

It's a fantastic cover. I read it at school and loved it.

When the highlight is a black and white screen inside Wembley Arena you know it's struggling.

The 20th Anniversary Special convinced 9 year old me that they had eschewed actors and had cardboard cutouts of Wyatt Earp and Bat Masterson.
