Agreed - we settled this debate a few years ago. There’s a large portion of the country not willing to “take the medicine” for the greater good

Those few seconds of Kilmer smiling while walking to the car, seeing those cops, then immediately raising his gun to fire was incredible. I still remember that sequence vividly after 30 years

It’s amazing how good Nolan is at conveying very complex themes concepts in his movies. Inception, Interstellar, Memento etc. and he uses every tool - sound, music, framing to help.

This was such a phenomenal film - the music, the story, the animation. I saw it with my 10 YO son who read the book and I felt like I was sharing in one of his first monumental moving going experiences…something he felt personally connected to. It should win a lot of awards.

@tvaziri.com - if you had to estimate how many scenes in a movie have some level of CGI, what percentage would you say? I’ve seen BTS clips of movies where the background of random, mundane exterior shot is actually all CGI. And any casual viewer would never notice that it’s fake…

There’s really only 2 solutions - either housing prices fall to make up for the increase in premiums, or government steps in to help subsidize. It’s going to force a serious convo about the role of government to help in these situations (and the appetite the public has) which will be a good thing

@adamkinzinger.bsky.social I still don’t understand how some people whileheartedly support Israel and the right to defend themselves (which I agree with) but then say Ukraine and their cause isn’t worthy of the same support. Have you learned anything about that from talking with other politicians?

@mcuban.bsky.social - 100%. People in the media are talking about how high inflation and prices will go based on his campaign promises. He will not let that happen and figure out another way to declare victory. Then the media will be called hysterical. “Skate to where the puck will be”.

Or give news a feature where they can approve who comments on their articles so they have some control and it doesn’t become a cesspool of trolls and foreign interference. It’s still in their best interest to all engagement on their content but they have some control on the quality
