I have to disagree here Josh - but besides looking great he also looks like your fraternal twin to me.
I on the other hand often get confused with Peter Fox, especially in elevators. He's about one head shorter than me but people don't care.

Wow, I just looked it up: the number of killed pedestrians per capita (and also per driven mile) is 4.5-5 times higher in the US compared to Germany.

If you drive your bike on the sidewalk in Germany the cops might fine you. If you look at them with big watery eyes like Puss in Boots they'll probably let you go with a warning. It's street or bike lane.
Pedestrians in Berlin will probably do a clothesline move if you drive on their sidewalk. ;)

But we introduced things like that with a fresh constitutional start after WWII - after learning what brought our democracy down before.
It's like Romania having one of the best internet infrastructure in Europe: it's easier to build something decent if no legacy crap is there in the first place...

Besides having several federal courts for different stuff, for the the federal constituional court in Germany a new judge (of 16) has to be elected by 2/3 of the parliament as well as 2/3 of the federal council. That means that it should be impossible for a single party to appoint judges.

Meine Eltern haben es ja auch irgendwie erfahren und eingesehen. Ich habe sie nicht dazu gedrängt, ich geh nur voran und zeige, dass es (sehr gut) geht. Ich glaube, auf Seiten der Installateure und anderer Handwerker tut sich langsam auch was.
