Spent the evening setting up ntopng on my #nixos based NAS and setting up my OpenWRT router to mirror traffic to it. I didn’t want to use a dedicated interface on each for mirroring, so had to set up an ipip tunnel between the two. I then had to exclude the ipip traffic from the mirroring lest I […]

hey remember when a bunch of middle-aged drunk korean lawmakers climbed the locked gates to the national assembly to hold an emergency session after the president gave illegal orders to the military, all of which ended with said president being sentenced to prison

Very much not a Gary Anderson fan but just want to see more and more of this match. It’s epic. Incredible #darts from both.

In a post-capitalist world you build a company that monopolizes some commodity and forces people to do business with you. You use your excess profits to buy politicians to protect […]

Setting up iPhone Reminders for when to cook what tomorrow. I tried using the Reminders MCP server to get Claude to create reminders from a spreadsheet, but the MCP server was very flaky. Instead I asked it to create an AppleScript which inserted them one by one, winner.

I just played a game of #morningtoncrescent with Claude. It was very in-keeping with the spirit of the game, including when I said the McCollum rules were in effect. The only problem was it ended the game after like 3 turns, and implied that Mornington Crescent was a loss […]

Watching #strangerthings and it’s now very hard to like Hopper after Lily Allen wrote a whole album about how much of an awful arsehole David Harbour is.

Frustrating problem to work on today while incredibly hungover from work’s Christmas party.

Can ssh to a new vendor’s network device from an adjacent device. Can’t ssh over the VPN from home. Can see SSH packets arriving on the thing and leaving it, but it just hangs before auth actually […]

We've started getting milk deliveries to cut down on plastic and cartons, going back to good ol' glass bottles. The app we use to manage them allows you to donate a delivery you don't need to Hubbub's community fridges. Such a good idea.

We use Modern Milkman, not sure how wide their coverage […]

We have a great little independent toy shop in town who we buy from as much as possible. Next choice is Smyths as they're a good way to entertain a 5 year old for 45 mins or so. But buying from them online is a case study in how latency affects conversions, the site barely loads and the Add To […]

I don’t get #whamageddon. How did it even start? It’s a legit excellent song, why do people try to avoid it?

What are the best #mincepies this year? For my sins I’ve only tried the standard Tesco Finest so far, normally they’re a solid bet but they felt a bit bland. Recommend me your favourite #MincePie please!

Opened a Cadbury #advent calendar this evening and door 1 had nothing in it. Fine, must have slipped out in transit. I opened the whole thing up and it was genuinely missing. Only door 1 was missing. Of all the ones to miss out. Devastated.

7 years at the bank today. Past the point now where I can imagine doing anything else. Well, except doing nothing. That’d be pretty nice.

Solution: Delete both and re-add the printer
Results: You have three copies of your printer listed

Read this about what’s happening in Chicago. Requires a VPN if you’re in the UK. https://cosocial.ca/@timbray/115516503003607540
This is an important, eloquent piece by @aphyr - worth a boost I’d say: https://aphyr.com/posts/397-i-want-you-to-understand-chicago What he wants you to understand is the experience of being under siege by the secret police. #Chicago #USpol
