Incumbency is a powerful weapon. Ernst has 6 more years of it. I also think the country (at least the ones that bother to show up and vote) is much farther right than in 2020. My guess is her thinking is she can pretty much say whatever she wants and not suffer any electoral consequence. We’ll see.
