Experimenting with some graphics options. Right now I have the Weather Agency logo on them, but I could switch it up a bit. Here is some of the expected snowfall over the next 12 hours (totals map). Another wave of snow is expected Fri into Saturday which I will put in another post.

The first half of January seems to be trending on the more active side, with a few different possible systems to keep an eye on. This map focuses on 1/10-1/12 timeframe.

More nuisance levels of snow tomorrow and Wednesday. Could see another couple inches between both clippers by New Years.

Mine versus actual. Overall it panned out fine. How can we train people to not only see the top number on the range. STC apparently was .2” below the bottom end of range.

SAT 2pm. Winter Storm Warning in pink counties/Blizzard Warnings in red counties- encroaching on the metro. Primary risk for this is 9am Sunday to 6am Monday. Seems a solid 5-8”+ looks likely with pockets of 6-12” thru the warned area, as long as the dry air doesn’t get too involved. Stay safe!! ❄️

FRI EVE- EARLY LOOK at what is a rapidly changing forecast for SUN into MON. 6-8” looks like a solid bet if this stays locked in-some areas could see up to 12”-CHANGES POSSIBLE/LIKELY TO THE FORECAST. Plan your post Holiday travel accordingly. Winds could be a big issue also.
December 27, 2025 at 4:49 AM
Sunday went from mostly a ‘meh’ system to potentially a ‘wow’ system in short order. Stay closely tuned in to the forecast! I could envision Winter Storm Watches perhaps being issued for the area in the near future.

15 years ago- the large snowstorm dubbed the “domebuster” that collapsed the Metrodome in Minneapolis- with over 17” of snow. This paved the way for US Bank Stadium to be built as a replacement. Photo was taken at 13”. We ended up with 4 more inches.

Hank hopes that you all are staying warm and safe this week. ❄️ 🐶

All by myself out here 🤣
December 10, 2025 at 2:27 AM
A busy week ahead! 4 more possible events. Tonight we may see a half inch to 1”. Then a tight gradient system over the area TUE/WED which may feature a rain/snow/icy mix on S end, then all snow to the North, with Several Inches,—another possible system THU into FRI and also SAT
December 8, 2025 at 9:38 PM
A clipper will move through FRI- and models are still a bit inconsistent on the best track. Another system for SAT looks to track just to our South-but we will need to watch that also. Through next week, a number of new snow chances in play. Thinking 1-3" for most of the area on Friday. Drive safe!
December 5, 2025 at 12:18 AM
Updated Forecast- Thanksgiving AM. The tight gradient is of course setting up right over the Metro. As usual, we may have a 6" variance from Northern Suburbs to Southern Suburbs. Any changes in track will dramatically alter the forecast either way, so don't be surprised if that happens. Stay tuned!

Posted 3pm WED: Early look at the system snowfall potential for Friday thru Sunday. Track is still being dialed in- so this has a fairly high likelihood of being adjusted to account for the cutoff on the Northern side of the system. We are inside the red circle.
November 26, 2025 at 9:23 PM
Tweaked again to account for the dramatic gradient (as usual) expected to evolve over the area. Confidence is fading on this as the storm has been wavering a fair bit on the models. Rapidly dropping temps, strong winds/first snow of the year for our area should still present plenty of challenges.
November 26, 2025 at 1:22 AM
Tuesday AM-The storm has trended a bit further South which potentially brings higher totals into the Metro now. Could see 4-7” here in MSP and the winds won’t be a party either- up to 45mph at times will promote a lot of blowing and drifting and unsafe travel as well as Blizzard conditions for some.
November 25, 2025 at 1:28 PM
Did you know you can also see forecast snowfall totals on my app? In this case, it doesn’t go all the way thru the duration of the storm, but it will eventually give you the full picture. See screen recording.

Learning how to use the plow on a pile of wood chips. Plow school 101. 😂 💪🏻 also used the skid steer today.

Early look at this system for Tue PM into Wed. Forecast subject to change. This will be our appetizer. If the mid and long range models have anything to say about it, we could be looking at a busy end of month and busy start to December. Get your vehicle etc winter ready!
November 23, 2025 at 12:50 AM
Snowfall forecast overnight. Not a guarantee. Temps, dry air to North & transition time from rain to snow, are all factors. Areas of S central MN under a Winter Weather Advisory also. South of MPLS & STP downtowns have best risk of snow. More down by Burnsville/Lakeville etc.
November 17, 2025 at 11:47 PM
A razor thin gradient of snow sets up over the area after Midnight. Models are still conflicted on if this stays as mostly a rain/snow mix, or if some areas get a few inches of slush. I would say the South MSP Metro has the greatest chance of a quick bit of accumulation on grassy/cooler surfaces.

Things might get a little interesting for MN during the week of Thanksgiving. Have to stay close to the forecast for your travel plans!
