What if aliens don't come to Earth because they don't want to have to smell the oxygen in our atmosphere?

"Nitrogen makes up most of their atmosphere so we would be able to breathe."

"But, sir, the oxygen, we'd never get the oxygen smell out."

What if this is the real reason babies cry so much. They can smell it, but they get used to it before they can remember to tell anyone...
