There are a few things in the sprawl that is Hoover that I have to go to, but rarely do I venture out of Homewood, BHM proper, Mt Brook, or Vestavia.

I went to Trussville for a cross country meet this fall. First time I had been there in five years.

Stan Mikita’s Donuts say otherwise, but I get the sentiment

No Wayne’s World?

He was in Steve Soderbergh’s “Red Oaks”. Absolutely brilliant in it. I watched that and thought “man if they ever do a biopic of Bill Parcells, Reiser is the guy for it”

If it’s because you felt the dealership did you wrong or they can’t/won’t give as good a deal …not much you can do.

My kid goes out there every week for a singing class. I see vacant store fronts all the time. If they’re concerned about traffic congestion, they need to stop building new subdivisions out there.

It’s bigotry, pure and simple.

There’s a strong chance that it is the same building.

There’s hardly anywhere they could build in Homewood now, except maybe West Oxmoor Road.

I’m guessing Meadowbrook is closer to where a lot of folks live. The amount of empty store front buildings out 280 is not insignificant. (1)

Claim it. Philosophy also fits it.

IIRC, you studied to be a priest for awhile. Making persuasive arguments might be a strong point for you.

We’re not lawyers, we work in banking. We’re predisposed to be logical about things.

I know what you mean.
It’s why I’ve gotten away from “blue blood”.

Pre playoffs: in December be ranked in the top 5 after conference finals.

4 team playoff: finish in the top 5 after the MNC.

12 team playoff: win a playoff game.

Have to do this once a decade.

Billy had whatever “rizz” is 50 years ago and never lost it

I’m more comfortable with labeling teams as “power programs” or “evil empires”. Bama, Ohio State…they’re going to finish the season ranked in the top 5 at least once every 10 years. I don’t think many programs do this.

Once a blue blood, always a blue blood. But they are like today’s Hapsburgs: inconsequential, but no jaw issues.

I think the last remake of that story I watched was the one with Susan Lucci. It kinda needs a break, I think.

For the record, I have NOT watched the Buffalo Bills themed Hallmark romance. My fandom has limits.

I listen to them a lot at work. They’re not the only ones guilty of repetitive WW2 stuff.
December 2, 2025 at 3:49 AM
They have a lot of good stuff, but I don’t think anyone is breaking new ground on WW2.

There’s one with Hoyt Axton that’s a rural setting. Also one with Henry Winkler set in 1920’s New England. I remember them being good.
