The big execs decide if an episode is axed or not, so yes, some of the writing might be an extreme miss

And the big execs will say "make that funnier otherwise you can throw out the entire script"

It's crazy how much people overestimate how much control Viv has over this show

But people outside of the film industry have been making FAR too many criticisms when they don't know jack shit about the world they're yapping about

The big execs decide how many episodes they get, not Viv, so yes, the writing is rushed

You're not supposed to think the scene is funny. You're meant to be uncomfortable. This was probably the lightest, least disturbing way that they could've written this scene without the entire episode getting NUKED.

Could they have done it differently? Maybe? Hard to say

The entire idea of the scene that was criticized is to make you think that Vox is a BAD PERSON who isn't above genuinely horrible acts if it means getting his power trip

The scene that I'm obviously talking about is the fakeout when the writers deliberately make the audience think that Vox r@ped Alastor, WHICH IS SUPPOSED TO MAKE YOU UNCOMFORTABLE

The only people that I've seen assume that it was a joke were Viv haters which shows 1 of 2 things

"Vivziepop try not to make an SA joke challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)"

That was an actual post that I saw on insta, and my immediate thought was

"Vivziepop haters try to have any semblance of media literacy challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)"
