Treasure State, C.J. Box. Another solid Montana mystery by a favorite author. I like how she has introduced new protagonists with subtle links to her others.

The Librarians, Sherry Thomas. These librarians come from a wide variety of backgrounds and band together to solve two murders in their midst. As they work together, their individual secrets both get in the way and bring them closer to one another.

The Change, Kirsten Miller. Four women discover new powers that let them challenge the power of the rich elite and find the truth about missing and murdered girls. Great mix of magic realism and mystery with a touch of dark humor.

Wreck, Catherine Newman. One family, doing all they can with whatever life is throwing at them. Funny and moving.

The Consuming Fire & The Last Emperox, John Scalzi. second and third books in one of the best sci-fi trilogies I’ve read. Highly recommend. Old Man’s War, John Scalzi. The beginning of his earlier series. I have gotten hooked on his writing.

The Deepest Cut, P.J. Tracy. One of my favorite series which features Monkeewrench, the gang of eccentric cyber-sleuths. This time they have to work with their homicide detective friends to stop a killer bent on revenge against all of them.

Heartwood, Amity Gaige. Love the main character, a woman of a certain age, a game warden in charge of the search and rescue of a missing hiker. Told from her point of view and that of the missing woman, along with some added participants who are all part of the puzzle.

A Hole in the Sky, Daniel H. Wilson. A Native American first contact story and a fascinating blend of sci-fi and thriller. Very intriguing.

The Haunting of Payne’s Hollow, Kelley Armstrong. Dark and spooky story about supernatural family secrets.

The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny, Kiran Desai. This was the first for the year and it is one reason for a lower book count, for all the right reasons. Beautiful writing, wonderful characters. I just had to make myself slow down and experience it fully.
