Protecting the freedom to read is meant to benefit everyone, not just people who can spend money. Any person with access to the library should be able to access information or books.

A devastating ruling that potentially impacts both public and school libraries.

"If the collection constitutes government speech, then [readers’ and authors’] speech rights are not implicated…This is because when the government itself is speaking, it is ‘entitled to say what it wishes.'”

One free speech organization has said the judge's ruling allows "blatant viewpoint discrimination in publicly-funded libraries."

I look forward to reading more of Phoebe's journey. Art imitates life, and I wish that the optimism (where trans people can simply exist in society) of the first book was the world we lived in. I'll always remember giving away my copy of Girlmode to someone with a trans niece. I hope things improve
