All sentenced to death in the Nuremberg Trials died by hanging, except Göring who committed suicide.

They weren't all soldiers. Of the 24 indicted most were government officials. Only 5 were military leaders.

No one was shot in the 12 subsequent trials either. All death sentences were by hanging.
