I stand by my comment that this isn't essential horror of Joe R. Lansdale, but essential horror, period. An absolutely flawless collection.

You rule, Gabino!!

If anyone’s looking for a fast-paced book with starred reviews from LJ, Booklist, and PW, raves from Stephen King, Rachel Harrison, and ✨Gabino Iglesias✨, AND that’s seasonally-appropriate (𝐇⃥⃒̸𝐚⃥⃒̸𝐥⃥⃒̸𝐥⃥⃒̸𝐨⃥⃒̸𝐰⃥⃒̸𝐞⃥⃒̸𝐞⃥⃒̸𝐧⃥⃒̸ 𝐦⃥⃒̸𝐚⃥⃒̸𝐬⃥⃒̸𝐤⃥⃒̸𝐬⃥⃒̸), I got something for ‘em!

I can see a lot of the Darkness on the Edge of Town album in your books for sure.

Finished This Wretched Valley by @jennykiefer.com and this book is more than just an amazing cover. An absolutely hallucinogenic, terrifying story of a vengeful land. I pray to never see Dead Man Toes mushrooms in my life. Sign me up for more!

I can't wait to pick this up, and apparently Lady Chevy too since I also loved The Last King of California and Sing Her Down.

Waiting on my hold from the library to come in so I figured nows a good time to start Thr Harlequin and the Train by @paultremblay.bsky.social. 40 pages in and ohh boy, what have I gotten myself into?!? Paul Tremblay always succeeds in freaking me out.

There is so much to love about that last chapter. Crazy to think it was delayed in U.S. because it's Harper's best book to date. (I reserve the right to change this view when his new one comes out, and each subsequent one)

Congratulations, that's awesome!

That's an awesome box of goodies. Love the poster inspired art included and the chainsaw pin.

Congrats on not only being a successful booktuber in the 2020s, but doing it apparently as a ghost of someone who passed away almost 20 years ago.

I recently read Kem Nunn's Tapping the Source and couldn't believe how no one talked about it anymore. It is an absolute classic in the crime genre, and more people should read it. Check out my thoughts on it here:

I always pictured Bug as someone bigger, almost Terry Crews size, where the size alone said don't mess with this guy. Olyphant as Ronnie would be incredible.

I'm about 30 pages into American Tabloid by James Ellroy and already hooked on it.

Oh man I hope you're exaggerating on the lactose intolerant part. How could someone think AI will help with that?

Camp Damascus by @chucktingle.bsky.social is religious horror done right. It's truly frightening, unsettling, and heartbreaking. Horror is at its best when it has something to say about the world, and Camp Damascus proves that.

I know a lot of people are excited for more from the world of The Stand, I'm excited for a new S.A. Cosby story to read.

I know I'm late to the party, but Joe R. Lansdale's Moon Lake is an absolute fantastic Texas Gothic story, with a beautiful cover to match.

Why did I wait so long to read @jordanharper.bsky.social She Rides Shotgun? It's incredible. I swear if anything happens to Polly or her bear by the end of this book I'll never recover.
