it's a full-bore cloudburst outside and it's so luxurious to wake up to the rain at this hour on a day off, not having to worry what this would do to the commute routes.

My work mouse battery flashed a 10% reminder today. It will probably be dead by Monday. 😵

True Gen-X solitude in 2025 means more text messages from 2FA login bots than from your actual living, breathing friends on most workday mornings.

Hear me out though: early retirement as a Democratic political platform.

We should be voting in politicians who understand letting the dollars circulate means more savings and compounding for more people.

I've been through a pandemic and lived. Don't make me work til I'm 70.

TNG rewatch and what a cute story arc about @wilwheaton.net crushing on Ashley Judd's character in the episode "The Game".

If they can make toffee peanuts, they can make toffee peanut m&m's...with a toffee coating, chocolate, and a peanut center.

Half-listening to college football on the radio and just misheard them say, "Welcome back to our coverage of the Army-Leggy game...", which honestly sounds like it would be more fun than whatever is actually going on.

Short ribs go in to braise at 1pm.
Debating whether to serve 'em rustic or get out the blender and make a nice pan sauce.

If the ringtone composers behind all the whimsical alarm sounds on my phone got their ASCAP money every time I pushed "snooze"...the billionaire class in America would have a few more members.

i did it again: ordered a cheesesteak on wheat today.
always a chance to change, tomorrow, i guess.
I wish I knew what childhood trauma polarized me against white bread.

I want to go back to that version of myself and give him a hug, tell him it'll be OK, that I can order the sub on white every now and then, as a treat.

Just dropping my future self a note that it has been soggy wet fog for 20 out of the last 30 days and even on the days the sun bothered to shine, I was stuck at my desk under fluorescent lights for those few precious hours.

Maybe this will be my Swamp Thing origin story. 🙄

Yikes. Bills gonna make sure Tee Higgins gets put back in concussion protocol before this game is over.

Hearing murmurs of a west-coast televised snow game today?
December 7, 2025 at 5:47 PM
no seriously - this ever-present high clouds/fog thing is getting to be too much. blocking out the sun for days at a time and blurring the distinction between waking hours and sleeping hours.

i'm just trying to be awake during my waking hours and the weather makes me feel like i'm sleepwalking!

Almost forgot to mention that the fog has been so strong lately that when I saw the sun for a few minutes today...it was for the first time in almost two weeks.
