people who say "i'll never vote for party A unless they give me X, Y and Z" understand and are participating in democracy. anyone who is like "i will vote for party A under any circumstances no matter what" may as well have a king

We aren't owed anything. I am not owed her political action. As a political content creator she certainly has created a societal expectation of progressiveness and the most basic empathy, she essentially waited two years to even once consider condemning a genocide, or whatever you can call her post

It wouldn't be quite as a bad, but still poor, if it didn't come like 2 years late

Not that I have some expectation of everyone to always immediately make big public statements, but 2 years is longer than the expected window of "collecting my thoughts"

Thank you very much, I was disheartened to read her post given it was clearly more focused on the etiquette of how leftists speak on X more than actual war crimes that are being committed

also - 'zero palestinian lives were saved?' sorry but the action wrt gaza online was not limited to complaining at contrapoints. people are doing fundraisers for palestinian people & charities all the time. my stream community raised more than $450k for palestinian healthcare charities
